The worker <strong>shall<\/strong> sign a record confirming receipt, or the wage <strong>shall<\/strong> be deposited or transferred into the worker\u2019s account with a local bank or financial institution licensed by the Central Bank of Oman.<\/li><li>Wage deductions are permitted only in the following cases, to safeguard the worker\u2019s financial rights:<\/li><\/ul><ol style=\"text-align: left;\"><li>If the worker intentionally or negligently causes loss or damage to tools, equipment, or products belonging to the employer that were under his care or use.<\/li><li>Deductions required to enforce a court judgment or administrative decision regarding the worker\u2019s debts or fines.<\/li><li>A loan provided to the worker by the employer, provided a written agreement exists between both parties. In such cases, the employer may not charge any interest on the loan.<\/li><\/ol><p style=\"text-align: left;\">In all cases, the total deduction shall not exceed one-quarter of the worker\u2019s wage.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Leave:<\/strong><\/p><ul style=\"text-align: left;\"><li>The worker is entitled to at least one day of paid rest per week.<\/li><li>The worker is entitled to an annual leave of no less than 21 days with full pay, in addition to paid sick leave of up to 30 days per year.<\/li><li>The employer <strong>shall<\/strong> compensate the worker for any unused leave balance upon the end of his service.<\/li><\/ul><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Termination of Employment:<\/strong><\/p><ul style=\"text-align: left;\"><li>Upon contract termination, the worker is entitled to an end-of-service benefit equivalent to half a month&#8217;s salary for each year of service,\u00a0with the equivalent for fractions of the year.<\/li><\/ul><ul style=\"text-align: left;\"><li>The employer <strong>shall<\/strong> provide the worker with all entitlements under the regulations or the contract within five (5) days of the worker\u2019s last working day.<\/li><li>The employer <strong>shall<\/strong> repatriate the worker to his home country or another mutually agreed destination within thirty (30) days of the contract\u2019s end, unless the worker\u2019s services are transferred to another employer. The employer <strong>shall<\/strong> also provide the worker, upon request, with a clearance certificate confirming that all obligations have been fulfilled upon contract termination or the worker\u2019s departure from Oman.<\/li><\/ul><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Working Environment and Social Security:<\/strong><\/p><ul style=\"text-align: left;\"><li>The worker <strong>shall<\/strong> be treated with respect and in a manner that preserves their human dignity.<\/li><li>The employer <strong>shall<\/strong> provide adequate food and accommodation meeting specified standards.<\/li><li>The employer <strong>shall<\/strong> provide health insurance coverage for the worker.<\/li><li>The employer <strong>shall<\/strong> supply all necessary work materials.<\/li><li>Any form of forced or compulsory labour is strictly prohibited, as is violence or harassment against the worker. Any condition or agreement that undermines the worker\u2019s rights is void.<\/li><li>Publicising a worker\u2019s personal details based on belief, colour, or in a manner insulting to human dignity is prohibited.<\/li><\/ul><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Disputes:<\/strong><\/p><ul style=\"text-align: left;\"><li>The worker is exempt from court fees and legal expenses in cases related to their labour rights.<\/li><li>Recruitment agencies <strong>may<\/strong> notify Ministry of Labour on the worker\u2019s behalf if the employer violates any of their rights.<\/li><li>Authorised officials from Ministry of Labour with judicial authority may interview the worker or summon them to Ministry of Labour to participate in awareness campaigns or workshops, or if a complaint is filed regarding a violation of their rights under these regulations.
